What are Non-GamStop Poker Sites?

Poker sites not on GamStop are casinos that are not licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. These UK poker sites are not part of the UK self-exclusion scheme and don’t fall under UK jurisdictions. That’s why most of the time the non-GamStop poker sites offer a wider variety of games and much bigger welcome deposit bonuses and promotions, and they accept various payment options, including digital currencies.

This doesn’t mean that the online poker sites not blocked by GamStop don’t have a licence. Usually they hold an offshore licence from the Malta Gaming Authority, Gibraltar or Curacao.

Best Bonuses to Use at UK Poker Sites Not Covered by GamStop

One of the major benefits of playing outside of the UKGC jurisdiction is not only the wide variety of bonuses at non Gamstop poker sites but also how much bigger they are.

Welcome Bonus Packages

Some of the most popular bonuses at non GamStop poker sites are the welcome bonus packages. The reason for this is that these deposit bonuses are much bigger. With many online casino platforms, you’d be able to get a bonus on each of your first three or four deposits along with some extra free spins. Most of the times, there is a minimum deposit required. Note that at offshore poker sites, usually the wagering requirements are a bit heavier compared to the UK-regulated poker sites. And the match percentages and the maximum bonus amounts are also quite higher.

Reload Bonus

A reload bonus, also known as a deposit bonus, gives existing players extra credits when they top up their balances with a qualifying deposit. Reload bonuses are similar to welcome bonuses, but almost always smaller.

A typical deposit bonus would be 50% up to a maximum of £375. As with many non-GamStop poker deposit bonuses, players need to clear the wagering requirements before they can cash out a reload bonus. Always check the casino site’s terms and conditions, as policies vary between offshore operators.

Rakeback

With rakeback you have the chance to get some of your money you’ve paid in rake while playing. Usually it’s added to your account as bonus cash each week. Most of the time you will get around 25%, although some VIP programmes increase the rate as you move through their loyalty levels.

Freerolls and Tournament Tickets

With free rolls you get the chance to enter a tournament without paying a fee while still having the chance to win real money. These tournaments are a good starting point for beginners.

Tournament tickets work a little differently. They give you free entry to a paid tournament, where the prize pool is often much bigger because other players have paid to take part in it.

VIP and Loyalty Programmes

Most poker platforms also run a VIP programme that rewards regular play. When you play at poker rooms not on GamStop and join a loyalty club, you normally start at the first level and earn points as you play poker. Moving through the tiers can unlock benefits such as higher rakeback, better reload offers, faster withdrawals and increased payment limits.

Games at Non GamStop Poker Sites

The most popular poker games around are Hold’em and Omaha. Some offshore sites sometimes offer special games, but these games don’t attract many players and have smaller prize pools. Here are the key poker variants you will find at non-GamStop sites that offer online poker not on GamStop:

Texas Hold’em

Hold’em is the easiest poker game to learn and by far the most played. You receive two hole cards and can use any of these and up to five community cards to make your best five-card poker hand.

The most common version is No-Limit Hold’em (NLH) and you can find it at the cash tables and in tournament poker, but you’ll also find some pot limit or even fixed limit games.

Omaha

Omaha is more of an action game because you get four hole cards and must use exactly two of these, plus three of the five community cards, to make your poker hand. The most played variant is Pot limit Omaha.

Seven Card Stud

This old-school poker game doesn’t have community cards. Instead, you receive a combination of seven cards (four face-up, three face-down), with up to five betting rounds. It’s rare these days to find Seven-Card Stud at online poker rooms outside the UK regulations.

Other Poker Games Without GamStop Restrictions

• 6+ Hold’em: It has Hold’em in the name, but it is not the same at all. All 2s, 3s, 4s, and 5s are removed from the deck, meaning you’re much more likely to make premium hands. In 6+ (also known as Short Deck), a flush beats a full house.
• PLO5/PLO6: Standard Omaha gives you double the hole cards you’ll get in a regular Hold’em game. But you can also start with five (PLO5) or six (PLO6) hole cards.
• Pineapple: Another one that uses Hold’em as a base, but with a big difference. You have three cards and have to chuck one away before the turn.
• Razz: You probably won’t find these at many (or any) poker sites not under GamStop. It’s like Seven Card Stud, but it’s the lowball version, so you’re aiming for low-ranking hands instead of high-ranking ones.

Payment Methods at Online Poker Sites – Deposits and Withdrawals

The best UK poker sites not registered with GamStop usually offer a wide range of banking options compared to regular casino sites. You can choose between the old-style payment methods like Visa and Mastercard, but on the other side you get the e-wallets and crypto payments, like Skrill, Neteller and PayPal, as well as Paysafecard, MiFinity and Trustly. Many reputable poker sites in the UK also accept cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, XRP, Dogecoin and various others.

How to Find the Best UK Poker Sites Not Blocked by GamStop

Finding the best non GamStop poker sites may look easy, but you should always keep in mind that those platforms aren’t regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, and that comes with certain big risks. Here’s how to spot the best poker rooms outside the GamStop network:

Regulation

The top non GamStop poker sites are offshore gambling platforms holding licences outside the UKGC. The key regulators to look out for include:

• Malta Gaming Authority
• Curacao Gaming Authority
• Autonomous Island of Anjouan/Union of Comoros

These are among the most popular and common poker licensing bodies. If you find a poker site for UK players that uses one of these, it means they’ve let a third party give their site an inspection.

Player Experience and Feedback

The most accurate way to see if a poker site not affected by GamStop is worth your time and money is to look for other players’ reviews online. However, these reviews are not always 100% truthful, as some players who have just suffered a big loss may post false reviews. To prevent that, you can join online communities and poker forums.

Payment methods

It’s also good to take a look at the payment methods available. What options are offered on deposit? What are the methods provided for cashing money out? Make sure to see the limits and the waiting times for requesting a payout.

Security

Many poker sites without GamStop have reputable licences like Curacao eGaming and the Malta Gaming Authority. You want to make sure the poker site encrypts your data and protects your personal information.

How to Start with Poker Rooms Not on GamStop

If you’ve never tried online poker rooms and have no experience at all, it’s better to build at least a better understanding of poker strategy. When playing poker for real money, you need to pick your games carefully and practise a solid bankroll. Becoming a top poker player won’t happen overnight, so you need to put in study time and patience. Below, you will find our best tips to help you better understand how the poker game works.

• Protect your bankroll: Don’t risk more than 5% of your poker bankroll on a single cash game or tournament. If you want to cope with a rough run without wiping out your balance, that’s the right way.
• Play responsibly: It’s the best if you set limits on both your playing time and deposits. If you feel tired, angry or worried about losing, these emotions may affect your decision.
• Choose your games carefully: Always check the statistics for each table game. Sometimes it’s worth joining a waiting list for a better game.
• Keep things simple at first: that’s very important, especially if you’re a beginner poker player. Stick to ABC non-Gamstop poker rooms from strong starting hands.
